The Qi Healing Kit
Introduction
The study and practice of qi, your essential life-force energy, is an
amazing journey. It’s an inner adventure into the miracles of your
body, mind, and spirit. Many sages, ancient and modern, have devoted
their lives to the contemplation of qi. Both Taoist and Buddhist schools
of thought have focused their attention on studying the power of qi. As
you yourself delve into The Qi Healing Kit, you will begin to unleash the
power of your life-force energy and realize what the ancient masters
have talked about for millennia — that you are magical beyond belief.
Like all teachings, this program will point out certain sights and
lead you toward certain destinations, but the journey can only be taken
by you. It’s a map that’s been around for thousands of years. And
like a well-trodden path to the top of a mountain, the practices and
meditations in this program have a rich and diverse history. But, as it
is said, the map is not the territory; like any great explorer, you must
discover qi for yourself.
Once you’re familiar with the techniques, the true journey begins—
one that is beyond instruction. The true journey is less like a marked
path and more like the invisible flight of a bird soaring through the air. It
is a journey where healing, vitality, and deep peace are discovered. The
Taoist path is an exhilarating rush of lightness and levity, of depth and
intensity, and ultimately it is yours to discover in your own unique way.
To begin, I like to start at the ending and give you a glimpse into
where this journey may lead you. To the Taoist, the end and the
beginning are on the closest two places on the circle of life. In the end,
you will come to realize that you are your own best miracle and that
you have tremendous potential within to have a completely fulfilling
life, one that is inspired and in alignment with a higher purpose.
We tend to look outside, into the world, for the answers to life’s
problems. The trouble with this approach is that happiness and fulfillment aren’t found externally; they are cultivated within. The true treasures we seek are states of being; peace, love, tranquility, ecstasy, and bliss are all internal qualities. Even when we think that someone or something will give us the experience of these treasures, they still are generated within. The external world elicits these emotions and energies within us.
The Taoist says that since these states of being come from within,
they can be cultivated from the inside out. Trying to find happiness
externally is, as the Taoists say, like searching for dragon’s eggs. They
don’t exist! Once we’ve acquired our next material goal, we are on
to something else in a never-ending quest. The Taoist recommends
cultivating life’s treasures within first, which then enables you to truly
enjoy the external world and your life.
