Herbalist Doreen Shababy's The Wild & Weedy Apothecary is a reliable and insightful guide to the benefits and applications of natural healing—everything from apples to "Zip," a hearty garlic tonic said to ward off colds and flu.
Readers will be fascinated as Doreen reveals all sorts of herbal trivia, such as: lavender can stimulate circulation when added to a bath and PMS symptoms can be treated with catnip tea. You’ll learn how to make your own bath salts, create your own herbal shampoo—and most likely find a use for recipes such as Manicotti Crepes, homemade blackberry brandy, spinach dip and fruit pie with a coconut cream cheese crust.
Once you enter The Wild & Weedy Apothecary, you’ll want to visit again and again.

I found this book to be a great resource of information to learn how I can use common herbs as well as specialized herbs in a number of ways (i.e., as food flavorings, for medicinal remedies). It is written from a more person-to-person perspective rather than just technical information, so for the average reader seeking this type of information, it provides good advice and/or suggestions.
I recommend this book to others.
