Totally agree with the last reviews. Seemed to rely on a lot of ersatz meat and dairy. As someone who is interested in moving more toward vegan cuisine , this book was a major disappointment.

too many mock meats and no suggestions where to buy or how to make them. this book assumes you live near a city with lots of asian markets and whole foods market type stores. i do. but if you don't, you won't be able to locate many of the ingredients. of course, you can always substitute tofu or tempeh for mock meats and those are most easily found at normal health food stores. book is NOT for those folks who live 50 miles from the nearest large health food store.

A vast majority of the recipes contain fake meat. I had no idea there were so many different kinds of fake meat, fish, shellfish, and cheese. Yuck! If someone is so hung up on the taste of meat, then why not just eat the real deal?
Despite the author's claim that a vegan diet is economical, buying all that ersatz meat and dairy is quite expensive.
There are so many great vegan cookbooks based on fresh, real ingredients. What a shame if this cookbook is someone's first (and maybe last) foray into the world of vegan cuisine.
