This book brings life to the revolutionary year of 1776 and general Washington and his cohorts as well as a description of the tactics and the reasons for them, which have historically been cloudy.

This is not just a book, but an spell-bounding museum in a box; a box that brings the year 1776 to life. If you have any interest in the American revolution, this should be required reading. You won't put it down.

I could not put it down it answerd a lot of questions that I had aboult the war. I loved all the historical facts aboult the soldiers,what they did for a living before the war broke out. David let you know that they were hard working people those men really fought hard for our independence.

This should be required reading for every American. Truly a masterpiece in American History, The beginnings of the greatest Nation on Earth. And not to mention the wonderful historic inserts making this a Museum piece that belongs in every Americans Home library....Bravo David Mc Cullough...I want more of your writtings... How about the next being an Illustrated Civil War book...I,m waiting. I give this Book a 10!!!!!
