Native American Leather & Bead Crafting

Inspired by traditional Native American designs, ranging from the Plains Indians’ peyote stitch beading to the floral beadwork of the northern Indians, these 36 projects will take you every step of the way through creating beautiful bead and leather necklaces, bags, belts and other pieces of art. These are modern interpretations of centuries-old techniques, so any crafter will be able to stitch everything from a beautiful fringed Comanche Jingle Pouch to a pair of Eastern Woodlands Moccasins with colorful beaded cuffs using supplies and tools readily available in any craft store. Fascinating information about American Indian clothing and regalia and the meaning behind ancient symbols round out this lushly illustrated guide.

I was looking for projects my cub scouts could make. There is a nice varity of projects and I hope to try some soon. The bead work is beautiful but I think it will be too complicated for the boys.

There is probably way to many good things to say about this book but, myself I've found that every thing that I needed to know to get started into making practical leather and bead work was in this volume, at this time I'm now looking forward to find more things to do. I want to thank everyone for making material like this possiable. Thanks.
