Learning to Turn Things Over to the Universe
We are so accustomed to doubting ourselves that we think it's natural to
doubt things or processes that are seemingly outside of ourselves. We think
it's "natural," however unpleasant, to be concerned, to worry, and even to
have backup plans, but those kinds of doubts actually diminish the otherwise
flawless performances of the Universe on our behalf. The reason we worry so
much is that we erroneously think that it is we, our physical selves, who
have to carry out all our wishes. If that were true, then we would have a
lot to worry about! But the irony is that our physical selves are little
more than breathing lumps of clay, which can't even begin to function
without the help of the Universe! We can't walk and talk without the
Universe, yet we think it's our job to make ourselves healthy, to provide
for ourselves financially, to find peace and harmony by manipulating the
hours of our days. And by thinking and behaving like this, we're telling
ourselves-and the Universe-that we don't believe or have faith in its
unending miracles.
On the other hand, with magical universe thinking built into your life, you
can start enjoying and appreciating that everything is already just as it
should be, and know that you are on your way to the manifestation of all of
your dreams. When you begin enjoying the present and all that it holds, you
become less focused on the future and how you want it to turn out. After
all, the Universe knows what you want, and by following your own natural
rhythms and pace-your inner gifts from heaven-you can relax, having faith
that all your future wants, desires, and dreams will manifest (before you
even know what they are).
For those of us who aren't quite there yet-who like having goals and who can
see them as challenges, dream manifestation is at least a fun and
enlightening hobby. Applying these understandings of life's magic to you and
your life, you should quickly begin to realize that your job in the
manifestation process is primarily to decide on and refine your dreams, not
to painstakingly struggle as if you were working against the Universe to
"make them happen."
-from Infinite Possibilities: The Art of Living Your Dreams by Mike Dooley
Infinite Possibilities is the masterwork from teacher, author and featured speaker Mike Dooley. As the next step beyond his immensely popular Notes from the Universe trilogy and his follow up, Choose Them Wisely, this profound and playful investigation into the mysteries of the universe affirms that there is no finite allotment of anything, especially happiness.
Mike Dooley knows that we create our own reality, our own fate and our own luck. We’re beings each filled with infinite possibility—just ready to explore how powerful we truly are. Manifesting the magnificence of our dreams isn’t about hard work, but rather about belief and expectation. These principles transcend belief, realizing the truth about our human nature.
Your dreams are not accidental nor inconsequential. And if someone were to tell the truth about life, reality and the powers we all possess, would it be recognized? Our lives are full of adventures—and not exactly the sky-diving, mountain-climbing variety—but something better.
You’ll laugh, applaud and be inspired by Mike’s fresh perspective on how each of us can look within ourselves to discover our true potential and bring our desires into reality.

Though I have read many uplifting, positive-thinking, hopefully self-improvement books for some time now, this book provides some creative new insights and is a very easy read. I'm sure it will be referred to time and again for some quick reminders of who is REALLY in charge of my life and how it's going! Thank you!
