When it comes to dramatically changing the look of copper, silver, brass and steel, it’s amazing what a little salt, vinegar, bleach, baking soda and liver of sulfer can do. And it’s easier to add a patina than you might think, especially with Kerry Bogert’s expert guidance. She’ll open your eyes to myriad ways to create unique metal finishes, from subtle weathering, to some of the most brilliant blues and greens you’ll ever see. Rustic Wrappings is written with the beginner in mind, but there’s plenty of great information for seasoned jewelry makers to add to their arsenal of jewelry-making skills, as well. Even better, the 24 projects you’ll be able to make will already have the feeling of age and history that so many of us love.

I bought this book because I love making metal jewelry, but dislike the bright color of raw brass. I tried the methods in this book, and guess what? They work! With about 4 dollars worth of household items you can create an aged, seaworn look to most any metal without buying dyes or paints. Love it. I would buy it again. Great book for new metal artists who want to add something special, or even experienced artists who haven't ventured into oxidizing metals. Thanks Kerry Bogert! Super book.
